  • Textile Testing

Textile products are made and sent to markets around the world. Countries like the United States have established standards for what should and should not be in textile products. Textile companies and consumer agencies conduct many kinds of analyses to make sure our clothes and the fabrics we use in our homes won't harm us, will be comfortable and will stay colorful for a long time. These processes ensure that something harmful or illegal isn't slipping through the regulatory cracks. As a professional reliability third-party testing organization, T,C&A Lab can provide Textile Testing service according to ISO, ASTM standards and industry requirements. Welcome to contact our experts for consultation.

    Textile Testing

The products we can test include but not limited to:

    • Fiber composition fabric
    • Structural fabric
    • Clothes
    • Home Textiles
    • Ecological textiles

    Testing items of textiles

Analyze and study the composition, structure, properties of the product and their influence on the product quality, and determine the use value of the product.

    • Fiber identification or material identification

The identification objects of textile fibers include single fiber, mixed fiber, yarn and fabric. For mixed fibers or blended yarns, it is generally observed with a microscope to confirm that there are several kinds of fibers, and then identify them one by one by other appropriate methods.

Composition analysis includes fiber composition, moisture content, formaldehyde content, etc.

    • Physical properties

Physical performance testing is one of the important means to evaluate the quality of textiles and clothing, mainly including fabric structure, fabric performance and strength testing.

    • Structural analysis

Fabric density, weaving density coefficient, yarn count, yarn twist, width, fabric thickness, fabric shrinkage or weaving rate, fabric weight, weft skew, angle turn, etc.

    • Colorfastness

In the international textile trade, the quality requirements of products are not only practical, durable and appearance, but also pay attention to the color fastness of textiles. The testing items of color fastness of textiles mainly include: washing fastness, rubbing fastness, sweat fastness, water fastness and so on.

The basic mechanical properties of the fabric are related to the structural characteristics of the fibers, yarns and fabrics used. The basic mechanical properties of the fabric include stretching, tearing, bursting and bending, etc. The tensile, tearing and bursting properties of the fabric directly affect the durability of the fabric, which is an important content to evaluate the quality of the fabric.

    • Chemical properties

Textile quality testing is mainly the detection of harmful chemical substances, including lead content testing, formaldehyde content testing, harmful substance testing, pH value testing and so on.

    • Specialized textile testing

Textiles not only have their own basic use value, but also have flammability, waterproof, antibacterial, air permeability, oil resistance and so on.

    Standards we test to

    • AATCC 6, AATCC 104, AATCC TM 15, AATCC TM 8
