Electrochemical corrosion techniques are essential in predicting the service life of metallic components used in electronics, chemical and petrochemical, construction and other industries. The experts in T,C&A Lab provide many ASTM and ISO standard tests as well as customized tests as clients' need. These testing services can help prevent harmful interactions between various metals and the environment.

    Our lab can help you

    Electrochemical corrosion Testingg

The test solutions we provide include but are not limited to:

    • Stainless steel pitting potential test

    • Electrochemical critical pitting temperature testing

    • Potentiodynamic anodic polarization measurements

    • Potentiodynamic polarization resistance measurements

    • Corrosion rate measurement and calculation

    • Galvanic corrosion test

    • Measurement of corrosion potentials

    • Electrochemical impedance test

    • Cyclic potentiodynamic polarization measurements

    Sample requirements

Samples for electrochemical corrosion testing must be electrical conductors and must be small enough to fit in the polarization cell. Components can be tested as a whole or as a smaller section. Metal coupons are specially prepared for some tests.

    Standards we test to

ISO 16773Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) on Coated and Uncoated Metallic Specimens
ASTM F2129Standard Test Method for Conducting Cyclic Potentiodynamic Polarization Measurements to Determine the Corrosion Susceptibility of Small Implant Devices
ASTM G102Standard Practice for Calculation of Corrosion Rates and Related Information from Electrochemical Measurements
ASTM G5Standard Reference Test Method for Making Potentiodynamic Anodic Polarization Measurements
ASTM G59Standard Test Method for Conducting Potentiodynamic Polarization Resistance Measurements
ASTM G61Standard Test Method for Conducting Cyclic Potentiodynamic Polarization Measurements for Localized Corrosion Susceptibility of Iron-, Nickel-, or Cobalt-Based Alloys
ASTM G71Standard Guide for Conducting and Evaluating Galvanic Corrosion Tests in Electrolytes
ASTM G82Standard Guide for Development and Use of a Galvanic Series for Predicting Galvanic Corrosion Performance
ASTM G5Standard Reference Test Method for Making Potentiodynamic Anodic Polarization Measurements
ASTM G150Standard Test Method for Electrochemical Critical Pitting Temperature Testing of Stainless Steels and Related Alloys
ASTM G108Standard Test Method for Electrochemical Reactivation (EPR) for Detecting Sensitization of AISI Type 304 and 304L Stainless Steels
ASTM G69Standard Test Method for Measurement of Corrosion Potentials of Aluminum Alloys
