Electrochemical Corrosion Testing
Electrochemical corrosion techniques are essential in predicting the service life of metallic components used in electronics, chemical and petrochemical, construction and other industries. The experts in T,C&A Lab provide many ASTM and ISO standard tests as well as customized tests as clients' need. These testing services can help prevent harmful interactions between various metals and the environment.
Our lab can help you
The test solutions we provide include but are not limited to:
Stainless steel pitting potential test
Electrochemical critical pitting temperature testing
Potentiodynamic anodic polarization measurements
Potentiodynamic polarization resistance measurements
Corrosion rate measurement and calculation
Galvanic corrosion test
Measurement of corrosion potentials
Electrochemical impedance test
Cyclic potentiodynamic polarization measurements
Sample requirements
Samples for electrochemical corrosion testing must be electrical conductors and must be small enough to fit in the polarization cell. Components can be tested as a whole or as a smaller section. Metal coupons are specially prepared for some tests.
Standards we test to
ISO 16773 | Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) on Coated and Uncoated Metallic Specimens |
ASTM F2129 | Standard Test Method for Conducting Cyclic Potentiodynamic Polarization Measurements to Determine the Corrosion Susceptibility of Small Implant Devices |
ASTM G102 | Standard Practice for Calculation of Corrosion Rates and Related Information from Electrochemical Measurements |
ASTM G5 | Standard Reference Test Method for Making Potentiodynamic Anodic Polarization Measurements |
ASTM G59 | Standard Test Method for Conducting Potentiodynamic Polarization Resistance Measurements |
ASTM G61 | Standard Test Method for Conducting Cyclic Potentiodynamic Polarization Measurements for Localized Corrosion Susceptibility of Iron-, Nickel-, or Cobalt-Based Alloys |
ASTM G71 | Standard Guide for Conducting and Evaluating Galvanic Corrosion Tests in Electrolytes |
ASTM G82 | Standard Guide for Development and Use of a Galvanic Series for Predicting Galvanic Corrosion Performance |
ASTM G5 | Standard Reference Test Method for Making Potentiodynamic Anodic Polarization Measurements |
